Chase goes to Kindergarten!

So the day has come, Chase started Kindergarten and I was so full of emotion it was hard! And I know that every mom has this feeling, I am not alone in this! But with Chase it was different, his story was different! Now its time to let go...just a little..here's his story!

After Justin and I got married, we immediately got to baby making! We wanted a little boy really bad! Madison was 7 and she was game for a sibling. One day in December I took a test and it was positive! I was so excited! I actually told Justin at work and that wasn't a great idea! He was on edge and we kind of argued, lesson learned! But I called my OB and set up an appointment. I went like 2 weeks later, they did the normal blood work, weighed me, all the pregnancy stuff, I got vitamins and was scheduled to come back in 4 weeks. 3 days later I got a call from the office nurse, asking me if I had multiples in our family? I said "yes a few cousins" why???? She said your levels came back really high and you may be carrying more than one baby! What?! My mind couldn't grasp what she was saying! So she then scheduled me for an ultrasound in 2 weeks. Well one week later I started spotting and cramping and got to the office and they did an u/s and realized I had miscarried one baby and the other baby was in harms way, due to it! I saw my 2 little babies up there and realized there were 2 But only one with a beating heart, I was devastated, Justin was so good to me! Gosh I love him! I then went on bed rest and was just an emotional wreck!Justin was great, I got lots of movies and Godiva and pretty flowers, but I had to take it easy and let my cervix heal and rebuild to carry who we now know as Chase! It was tough for a long time! But I had one baby who was fighting to be here! So we monitored my pregnancy I ate good, I glowed and it was awesome! Had my ultrasound and we found out he was a boy! Woo hoo! He would have his daddy's initials Jared Chase, but wed call him Chase!

At 30 weeks with another u/s we found out there may be some issues with his heart. We didn't really know what until after delivery. I actually went to the Dr at 40 weeks and 2 days and they sent me home, I remember stopping at Sonic for a milkshake and Wendy's for fries and a bacon cheeseburger! I came home and stuffed my face and cried that we was never gonna come! I started feeling kinda tired and anxious, well that's because I was actually in labor! I was in our bedroom, Justin and Maddy were in the living room playing wheel of fortune on the play station. After a while on moaning and groaning " Justin said baby should we time these groans" I said yes I guess! Sure enough they were about 10 mins apart! We called my mother in law who was at walmart and told her we needed her! She said that was the 1st time she was able to cut line and say my daughter in law is having a baby! Ha we thought that was funny!

We get to the hospital and within an hour and a half! Jared Chase Satterwhite is born 7lbs 5oz with tons of jet black hair! My mom and grandma came right after he was born! Madison was over the moon and well Justin and I just cried! He made it here! We have our boy! Well we left the hospital after 3 days! He was not a good sleeper and screamed every time we was in the car! He went to daycare at 6 weeks and I went back to work a mess! He was so tiny and I just wasn't ready.

Skip ahead to 6 months....He started getting sick, breathing trouble sick! He was hospitalized for pneumonia, got RSV and was staying sick! I was having to leave work all the time! He had round the clock breathing treatments, antibiotics and lots of appointments. All while I was still trying to work! It was getting to be too much! At 1 year he had been to the cardiologist, had allergy testing, been to Shriner's Hospital for possible hip dysplasia and was diagnosed with an aortic valve tear! Causing him to be susceptible to everything! I was working and just became un bearable. So Justin and I made the decision for me to stay home! Mind you I have always worked...stay at home?? What am I supposed to do? I think the 1st week Chase and I just stared at each other. After that he molded me, we molded each other! We learned together! I gave him round the clock care! We sang, we played, we dressed up, played in the rain, painted with pudding and found our way! And he got better, and better and better! To this day Chase has not had 1 sick visit to the Dr, since I came home! He got a good diagnosis from the cardiologist in April and we just have to monitor strenuous activity and keep a journal! Thank you God!

So now my sweet boy is all better and in Kindergarten! Its been a long road with him thus far but we are blessed to have him, healthy and happy! My heart is happy because hes so strong and the best little boy a momma and daddy could ask for! I love you Chase and I hope you always know that I have learned way more from you! Your dad and I cant wait to celebrate your 5th birthday with your big Toy Story carnival!
